Meet our world-class faculty!

Jim Clark – Jim got his singing start watching and listening to his father, Dr. Dan Clark, sing in a quartet called ‘The Chordial Celebration’ in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. While in college Jim sang in the 1995 Central States District Quartet Champions, Freefall, and the 1999 International Medalist College Quartet, Millennium. Jim sings lead in the 2010 International Gold Medal quartet, Storm Front. He is the director of the America the Beautiful Chorus, and previously directed the Valentine City Chorus in Loveland, CO. He also sang in and served as lead section leader, choreographer, and Assistant Director of the International Medalist Chorus, Sound of the Rockies. Jim continues to be a highly sought after teacher and clinician throughout the United States. Professionally, Jim is Director of Development for Harmony Foundation International. Jim lives in Aurora, CO with his wife, Rhonda and their sons, Simon and Seamus.


Anthony Colosimo – Anthony has competed in quartets since the age of 12 with many being notable competitors in regional, national, and international competitions. Anthony is a member of 2016 BHS International finalists Da Capo, the Associate Director of the Alexandria Harmonizers, a Certified Singing Judge, the Director of the Capital Force Youth Chorus, and an active coach and clinician for youth and adults at BHS events. He is a professional tenor in the Washington D.C. area and has performed at the White House, Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, on TNT, and under many notable choral batons. In 2005, Anthony sang on stage with Andrea Bocelli as the recipient of the NIAF Andrea Bocelli scholarship for music at Christopher Newport University where he received degrees in Vocal Performance and Choral Music Education. Anthony is a vocal music instructor in Montgomery County Public Schools at Sligo Middle School and a cantor and chorister at St. Stephen-Martyr Church in Washington D.C.


Bob Cox – Bob started his barbershop career in high school on a dare from a teacher with three close friends and fellow choir members over 50 years ago. With 48 years of Society membership, Bob has served in key leadership positons at the Chapter, District and Society level and is a Certified Leadership Training Facilitator supporting the Society’s Leadership and Operations Team. He currently is on the Salem Oregon Chapter Board in a membership support position, in addition to serving as a Division Leadership Liaison within the Evergreen District and also on the District and Society Ethics Committees. Special recognition includes Chapter and District BOTY and Evergreen District Hall of Fame.

 


Sean Devine – Sean comes originally from “The Sweetest Place on Earth”, Hershey, PA. He moved out West in 2001 to pursue a career in music, performing full-time with a professional doo-wop group, The Alley Cats. In 2008 Sean began work as a Director of Major Gifts with Harmony Foundation International. Sean is a 5-time International Chorus gold medalist and served as lead section leader with the Masters of Harmony; he was lead section leader and founding member of the 2007 International Champions, The Westminster Chorus; he sang lead with 2008 International Quartet champs, OC Times; he currently sings lead with International Quartet silver medal quartet, Throwback; and he serves as Artistic Director for Parkside Harmony, 2018 International Chorus 3rd Place Medalists. Sean earned his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. He is also a certified Barbershop Harmony Society Performance judge, and in his spare time enjoys serving as a clinician for vocal and performance workshops all around the world.


Jay Dougherty – Dr. Jay Dougherty is the Director of Choral Activities at Marietta College in the Mid-Ohio Valley where he teaches all campus choral ensembles, choral methods, beginning conducting, and advanced choral conducting. Jay holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting (DMA), and a Masters in Choral Conducting (MM), both from the University of Colorado Boulder. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in choral music education (BM) from Brigham Young University, Provo. He has served as the director of various community and youth ensembles, many of which have competed and earned the highest possible honors and awards including “Plateau II Champions” and “Most Improved Chorus.” He also served as the director of the 52eighty Youth Chorus, which took first place honors under his direction in the international youth chorus competition, 2014. Jay is in demand as a clinician, judge, coach, presenter, conductor, and adjudicator for festivals, honor choirs, conventions, and competitions around the world. He lives in Vincent, Ohio, with his wife and five daughters.


Kevin Keller – Kevin has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society since 1978. A certified Music Judge since 1998, he served as Music Category Specialist from 2008-2010 and Chairman of Contest and Judging from 2012-2015. He has a rich history of both chorus and quartet experience. He was an assistant director with AoH as it rose up the ranks to winning gold, as well as taking small choruses to higher levels. He has won two district championships as a quartet singer and finished as high as 6th place internationally with Cheers! in 2003. He coaches quartets and choruses of all calibers. He is recognized throughout the barbershop world as an accomplished arranger, teacher and coach. Kevin’s focus is looking at how the song and arrangement inform the singer on all aspects of performance.


Mike Lietke – Mike is a certified Performance Judge of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a sought-after Coach, Clinician, and a dedicated father and husband. He is a two-time district champion tenor and a member of Midwest Vocal Express.

 

 

 


Steve Tramack – Steve is a 38-year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, who proves the adage that barbershopping runs in the blood. Great-grandfather Frank Barker started a chapter in 1946; his father, Dave, was a 40+ year member, and his son, Joshua is a BHS member. His wife, Renee, is a 39-year member of Harmony Inc. who directs New England Voices in Harmony (2014 and 2018 champs). Their daughters, Christina and Samantha also sing with Renee in Taken 4 Granite, 2016 Harmony Inc. International Quartet Champions. Steve is actively involved in several facets of barbershopping, including: 10-time International chorus director; 5-time International quartet competitor; Certified Music judge (2010), and current Music Category Specialist; Over 250 commissioned arrangements, ranging from International champions to local chapter quartets and choruses; Active coach of men’s, women’s and mixed ensembles worldwide; 16-year Harmony University faculty member. During the day Steve works for Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Director of Engineering.
