Happy almost spring to the fine singers of the RMD!!!

Excitement is growing as our spring convention in Cheyenne, Wyoming, April 20-22 2023 gets closer! It is sure to be a fantastic weekend featuring LOTS of great singing, coaching, education, and friendship!!

Once again we will be following our unique schedule of having 2 rounds of invitational prelims quartet contest beginning Friday at 4pm.  There will be a dinner break between the 2 rounds and we hope to have the contest finished up by 10pm at the latest. Quartet evaluations will be held Saturday during the day. Contact Bob Lawson (rmd.drcj@gmail.com) with any contest related questions.

There will be several RMHC classes offered early Friday afternoon before prelims begin for those that would like to or are planning to arrive earlier.  A full schedule will be out soon with class titles to be added ASAP.

Saturday will feature our Rocky Mountain Harmony College event.  Classes and coaching will be offered all day by some of the best barbershop coaches and faculty in the world.  Each session will feature multiple topics ranging from chorus leadership to music theory.  Seven or eight sessions will be offered throughout the weekend.

Quartet and Chorus coaching will also be offered on Saturday.  We’d like to accommodate as many that would like to coach as possible.  Every group will be offered 3 coaching sessions unless you’d only prefer 1 or 2 so you can attend more classes. Unfortunately, these coaching sessions have to happen at the same time as class offerings because of the limited time and faculty we have for the weekend.  That being said, I am confident in being able to have it successfully work as well as it did in Fort Collins last year!!

I NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOUR QUARTET OR CHORUS WOULD LIKE TO COACH!!! Please contact me ASAP if you know you want to coach. We need to hear from all groups that want to coach by March 20, 2023 so we can get the coaching schedule/matrix set up.

The weekend wraps up with an informal show on Saturday night featuring our current BHS Silver Medalists MIDTOWN! They will serve as our faculty quartet for the weekend and will also be available to do some private teaching, coaching, and voice lessons along with presenting a master class or two for our attendees.

This event is another step in reviving our spring convention that has been absent from the RMD for quite a few years until recently. We were thrilled with the attendance last year and know that this year will be even better!

A lot more info will be coming out in the next 2 months leading up to the event.  As it takes some time to plan the classes with the instructors (still finalizing) and plan the coaching, we will send out info as soon as we have it and can!!

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Harmoniously,
