There are two types of people after International.
The first sees these incredible performances and thinks, “I could never do that” and gives up on improvement.
The second thinks “I can’t WAIT to get back to rehearsal.”
Keep in mind Instant Classic hadn’t won a contest since they won district. They were always second to Forefront, didn’t win collegiate, and didn’t medal until they won.
AoH (Ambassadors of Harmony) was, at one point, dead last at their district. (It was the Daniel Boone Chorus back then).
After Hours and Instant Classic are fabulous examples of friends who stick together for a long period of time, and pursue the goal. If you’re thinking, “I can’t wait to get back to rehearsal” you’re in the right spot. If you’re thinking “I could never do that” ask a district champ or an international medalist how long it took to get there? Hundreds if not thousands of hours, miles, dollars, and sweat go into this. And they’re all worth it.
Congrats to everyone who stepped on the international stage. We the audience don’t always understand how much time went into your set, but you are singing awesome if you’re up there.
And rehearsal is (insert your day here) night, btw. 🙂
