Our barbershopper of the year has attended nearly every International Convention since 1983 and has participated in 5 choruses and 5 quartets in both the Central States District and the Rocky Mountain District. One of those quartets was the second RMD quartet to join the AIC.
In that quartet’s first year of existence they were the founding music clinicians for Summer Harmony Camp (and also served the second year of Summer Harmony Camp), and now he will be returning to direct the men’s Summer Harmony Camp chorus in 2019.
In 2018 he directed the RMD Festival chorus at Mount Rushmore.
He is the chorus director of the America The Beautiful Chorus of the Pike’s Peak chapter, which is hosting and competing in this convention.
As a full time representative for Harmony Foundation, he has been actively involved in RMD leadership meetings and recently brought a strategic plan to expand utilization of Donor Choice funds to include Education as well as Youth Outreach projects, which has both energized the donor base and will enhance our educational offerings to improve musical growth in the Rocky Mountain District. Rocky Mountain Harmony College will have a wider and deeper curriculum to feed and grow musical talent for barbershoppers at all levels, chorus directors will have advanced training opportunities, and youth outreach will prosper at newer levels with funding for existing and start-up projects.
Please join me in honoring our 2018 RMD Barbershopper of the Year…lead of the 2010 gold medal quartet Storm Front…Jim Clark!
