Welcome to Our New and Improved Rocky Mountain Harmony College
We are pleased to announce our newly revamped Rocky Mountain Harmony College (RMHC), April 26-28, 2019.
We have a new Dean, a new venue, new instructors and a new philosophy that promises to make RMHC one of the premiere barbershop events of the year.
We are fortunate to have one of the barbershop greats in our District in Adam Scott, who is our new Dean of Harmony College. Adam is a gifted musician, a brilliant arranger, and former Barbershop Harmony Society staffer. He has tremendous plans for making RMHC 2019 a “not to be missed” event. Our Dean has assembled an all-star list of instructors who will come and educate us to be better barbershoppers. These instructors include Marty Lovick, Adam Reimnitz, Eddie Martinez, Shawn Mondragon, Kim Newcomb, Cay Outerbridge, Jim Clark, Mark Hale, Ron Black, and Elizabeth Davies,
(among others).
In addition, we will be offering our next installment of Harmony Platoon which has become a favorite for those who desire to sing in pick-up quartets. If you ever wanted to experience singing in a quartet with three other guys who will become your new “best friends”, then Harmony Platoon is for you.
We are also bringing back the Everyone in Harmony Chorus (formerly known as “Everyman’s Chorus”.) All attendees at RMHC will have an opportunity to learn a couple of songs, and perform in a large mixed chorus directed by none other than Mark Hale. Coupled with world class quartet and chorus coaching, a Saturday night show and a giant after-party, this is an event you will definitely want to attend.
It is also the spring House of Delegates meeting on Friday morning at 9:00 am. Make sure your chapter is represented in the House of Delegates. It is your big chance to have something to say about the District affairs.
We will return to one of our favorite venues – the Little America Resort and Conference Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This is the first time RMHC will be held at Little America, and will be the same location of our District contest this fall.
Finally, in the spirit of “Everyone in Harmony”, our event open to everyone to include members of the Sweet Adelines, Harmony Incorporated, the Mixed Barbershop Harmony Association, and spouses who also like to sing barbershop. Encourage your spouse to attend and take courses. Don’t forget the Everyone in Harmony Chorus, which is an “all attendees chorus.” Women are welcome and encouraged to participate. The Everyone in Harmony Chorus will perform on the Saturday night show as well.
It will be a wonderful weekend of making new friends, connecting with old friends from around the District, learning new things, and a weekend of great fun singing barbershop! Join us for a great time in April!
