The Midway hills will be alive with Barbershop singing Oct. 6-8 at a Zermatt Resort Convention.
Lots of Barbershop four-part accapella harmony singing amid the Swiss décor in Midway, Utah, will take place October 6 through 8 as the Rocky Mountain District of the Barbershop Harmony Society Chapters gather for their Fall Convention and Contest.
Chapter Choruses and Barbershop Quartets from all over Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico will descend on the quiet town of Midway’s Swiss-styled Zermatt Resort and Spa to compete over three days for the right to represent the Rocky Mountain District at the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Convention and Contest in Orlando, Florida in the summer of 2018.
Thursday, Oct. 6, events begin with the Rocky Mountain District Board of Directors meeting, and then a full weekend of singing kicks off, Friday morning (Oct. 7) with the House of Delegates meeting on Friday morning where Chapter delegates meet together with Rocky Mountain District leadership to continue future planning and functions for the District.
There will also be a couple of Harmony Education Classes each day, Friday and Saturday (Oct. 7 & 8) to further the member’s knowledge of Barbershop Harmony, and Barbershop music and singing skills.
